What we do
Five sectors we convene around
Each sector below sets out what we convene, and where we have no dedicated programme yet.
Caspian Week 2020, Davos — Experts’ roundtable on the TAPI gas pipeline

Energy, oil and gas
The region holds some of the world's largest gas and oil reserves, alongside significant wind, solar and hydro potential. We convene the ministries, operators and buyers who move that energy to market while the sector shifts to renewables and cuts carbon and methane emissions.
Mining and critical minerals
The region supplies critical metals that modern industry and global supply chains depend on. We have not yet set up a dedicated mining programme, so we convene on mining through our broader energy work.
No dedicated programme yet

Trade, logistics and corridors
The region's 18 countries move +110 million tons of breakbulk cargo and +500,000 TEU of containers. Those flows rely on trade routes that no single government controls. We convene the corridor operators, ports, customs authorities and chambers whose coordination decides whether cargo and energy move between Asia and Europe.

Climate and environment
The Caspian Sea is the largest land-locked body of water on the planet. Its shallowing is a problem no single state on its shores can solve alone. We convene on the sea and its basin: water access, emissions, adaptation and climate finance.

Digital and innovation
We convene on digital trade and documentation, artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, and the region's start-up and venture base. For a land-locked region, these are among the tools that shape how it trades and industrialises.
